It has a coefficient of thermal expansion that ranges from 13.5 to 14.8 x 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹, making it suitable for use with various types of metal alloys, including high gold, reduced gold, and palladium-based alloys used in porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) restorations.
