It includes different types of files like the Slider, Shaper, and Finishers, each optimized for specific stages of the endodontic process. The Slider file combines the original ProGlider and S1 files to establish a glide path and initial orifice opening. The Shaper file continues with the crown-down technique, while the Finishing files prepare the canal for final cleaning and filling.
One of the key features of the ProTaper system is its progressively tapered design, which improves flexibility, cutting efficiency, and safety. This design also helps in reducing the risk of file breakage and enhances the instrument’s ability to navigate curved canals. The files are made from nickel-titanium (NiTi) and undergo specific heat treatments to improve their resistance to cyclic fatigue.
