Full Arch Reconstructions with Tilted Implants – Dr. Komal Majumdar

On January 24, we gathered at the Dusit Princess in Kathmandu for a landmark educational event focused on the future of implant dentistry. Hosted by Bredent Nepal, the workshop tackled one of the most significant revolutions in the field: Tilted Implants.

The day kicked off with an in-depth discussion on why tilted implants have become a preferred treatment modality for completely edentulous patients. Dr. Komal Majumdar shared her expertise on how this technique provides a functional and economic alternative to traditional grafting and sinus lift procedures, which can often be undesirable for patients with severely atrophic jaws.

Key Learning Pillars covered included:

    • The Rationale: Understanding the clinical “why” behind tilted implants.

    • Surgical Protocols: Precise steps for successful placement and handling prosthetic components.

    • Immediate Results: Mastery of immediate temporization and denture conversion techniques.

The energy in the room peaked during the Live Demo sessions. Attendees had the opportunity to observe:

    • Real-time placement of tilted implants on models.

    • The intricate handling of multi-unit abutments.

    • Step-by-step chairside denture conversion.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Komal Majumdar for her invaluable insights and to every dental professional who joined us. Events like these are what push the standards of dental care in Nepal forward
